This weekend promises to offer a variety of homilies in Catholic churches where, in Sunday’s gospel, the people ask Jesus:
« Lord, will only a few people be saved? »
– and this only days after Donald Trump (speaking of the deaths in Russia’s war against Ukraine) spoke of his desire to be saved:
« I wanna try and get to heaven if possible. I’m hearing I’m not doing well. I’m really at the bottom of the totem pole. But if I can get to heaven, this will be one of the reasons. »
