The first day of spring!
And because I believe it’s you, Lord,
who made the earth
and bring it back to life each year,
I believe you hold all things in your hands…
You have the mercy, Lord,
to thaw my frigid heart
and melt my sins away…
You have the grace, Lord,
to turn my heart around
to you and to my neighbor…
You have the love, Lord,
to recreate my spirit
and anoint my soul with joy…
You have the will, Lord,
to fill my thoughts with wisdom,
with charity and truth…
You have the desire, Lord,
to bind us all together
in the peace that’s ours to make…
You have the power, Lord,
to make of all your people
faithful stewards of creation…
You have the strength, Lord,
to break the chains of greed
and set all your children free…
You have the glory, Lord,
to calm the seas and mend our broken lives;
you hold sway over changing seasons,
winter, spring, summer, fall,
the seasons found in nature
and the seasons of our hearts…
And because you have the power, Lord,
to give and take, to bring to birth and raise the dead;
we pray you grant a peaceful springtime
to your people, in your love…
Protect us, Lord, while we’re awake
Protect us, Lord, while we’re awake
and watch over us while we sleep
that awake, we might keep watch with you
and asleep, rest in your peace…
In my life, where my seasons are always changing,
it’s good to remember that the Lord is God of all my days…
