when I take for granted
all that I have:

in the simplest things of life…

help me remember
the joy I have –
in the simplest of my possessions…

and must have it now:

the joys at hand –
in the simple things already mine…

when greed and envy
spoil my heart:
help me cherish
my deepest joy
in the simple gifts already mine…

And remind me, Lord,
both night and day
to generously share
from the bounty that’s mine,
the gifts I’ve received
from your loving hand…
