Give me the smarts I need, Lord,
to know when I must STOP
being stubborn, proud, shortsighted
and generally – kind of a jerk…
Lord, teach me how to YIELD
to my neighbors’ many needs
and slow me down so I can see
what lies just up ahead…
And give me strength to GO, Lord,
to get up and and move along
with the challenges I face
on the path that’s mine to walk…
Open my eyes to see, Lord
and to follow all the lights
that signal and direct me
ever closer to your side…
Help me STOP and pray each day,
help me YIELD to your wise counsel
and GO always where you lead me
– on your way and in your peace…
