Like a chick hatching from its shell, Lord,
so springtime is emerging,
cracking through the last thin ice of winter,
warming towards the vernal sun,
breaking through to daylight,
In the same way, Lord,
tap on my hard shell
’til I emerge,
reborn this Lenten spring:
once again alive in you,
quickened by your rising,
anointed by your Spirit,
and filled to overflowing
with the joy your glory brings…
