Sometimes, Lord, even at Easter,
thick clouds hide the sun
and leave me in the dark…
Lost in dense woods,
a forest deep and drear,
I can’t find my way out…
The path is overgrown,
my balance unsteady,
my step unsure…
The forest frightens me, Lord,
so take my hand in yours
and lead me to a clearing
when the ache in my heart
speaks my heart’s distress
and my longing for your help..
When I worry and I wander, Lord,
shine your light upon my path
and lead me from my wilderness…
Rise up, Lord, in my darkness:
take my hand and show the way
that brings me home and to your peace…
