Pause for Prayer: SUNDAY 8/20

Pause for Prayer: SUNDAY 8/20

I’m thirsty, Lord,
for the waters of Clear Creek in Colorado!
But I’m a long walk this morning from Georgetown
and the bridge at 8th and Griffith
and the sound of Clear Creek, rushing and gushing
and hushing my soul to prayer
with hymns and psalms praising your glory,
announcing your holy presence…
I’m pining for waters beyond my reach
but I trust you won’t leave me parched and dry,
that you’ll find a way to quench my thirst
and satisfy my desire
to find you, Lord, rushing and gushing through all my veins
and hushing my heart ’til I hear your voice
speaking softly, whispering gently,
I’m with you wherever you go…
I’m thirsty this morning, Lord,
thirsty for you and the waters of life,
awaiting a river of grace to course
through  my soul, through my dreams, through my life…
I’ll meet you, Lord, at 8th and Griffith,
wherever that lies on my path today…
