In anticipation of Lent which begins with
Ash Wednesday, February 18,
Pope Leo has offered us this tip
for our Lenten practice.
I’m especially struck by two of his phrases:
disarming our language
cultivating kindness and respect.
Our words can indeed both
wound and tear us apart
heal and unite us.
Leo’s words are timely…
