Through all our many fears and tears,

Undeterred by war and conflict,

Despite injustice and oppression,

Whatever may befall us, Lord,
you hold us in your peace…
When my heart’s engulfed with worry,
and my soul is filled with grief,
when my problems are too many
and my hope’s in short supply,
remind me then, especially then,
and don’t let me forget,
you hold us in your arms, Lord,

Protect us, Lord, while we’re awake,
keep vigil while we sleep
that awake, we keep the watch with you
and asleep, rest in your peace…
