To Carry a Frog

Catholic Poetry Room
This week’s poem in the Catholic Poetry Room is by Nicholas Bellacicco.

To Carry a Frog

God is holding you
in the palm of His hand.
Yet, you see yourself
as sand slipping through His fingers.
God is holding you
like a child carrying a frog.
Sealing every side safely shut,
as you hop around
bashing against His palms
praying for Him to help you.

Nicholas Bellacicco was born and raised in Stamford, CT. He attended Baylor University in Waco, TX, where he studied Medical Humanities.
